At the time, Millbank was a peaceful residential area, with a distillery which is visible to the left. Horses have been brought down to the river to be watered, whilst rural scenes are depicted to along the river bank.John Laporte (1761-1839) was an English landscape painter. Francis Jukes (1745-1812) was a prolific engraver and publisher, chiefly known for his topographical and shipping prints, the majority in aquatint. Image: 413 by 575mm (16.25 by 22.75 inches).
