Does America Need a Foreign Policy? Toward - Kissinger, Henry - 2001. [1380983]
Simon & Schuster, New York 2001 - First edition. 318 pp. 8vo. Inscribed to Cyrus Vance. INSCRIBED "To / Guy Vance / With friendship, / admiration and affection / Henry A. Kissinger." An outstanding association copy. Cyrus Vance (1917-2002) succeeded Kissinger as Secretary of State, occupying the post from 1977-1980. The two maintained a close relationship, and Kissinger was a pall bearer and delivered the eulogy at Vance's funeral. On page 267 of the present book, Kissinger makes reference to the Bosnian "partition plan devised by former Secretary of State Cyrus Vance and former British Foreign Secretary David Owen," which was rejected by the Clinton administration. Original cloth, dust jacket. A fine copy [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
