Basle, aux dÃ©pens des FrÃ¨res Cramer 1758 - ; two volumes in 4to; pp. VIII, 594; pp. VIII, 662, 16 folding tables; contemporary full speckled calf, raised bands, spines richly gilt in compartments with two contrasting gilt lettering-pieces, very little bumped, marbled edges, marbled endpapers, front pastedowns with a small handwritten private library label and engraved armorial exlibris, occasionally mild age-toning, clean and crisp, an excellent set. First edition. Forbonnais (1722-1801) was a leading economist of the 18th century. After working in trade and industry he became general inspector of currency.
