Three typed letters signed to Victor Gollancz - LEWIS, NORMAN - 1935. 
Four pages 27 April 1935 - 10 February 1936, London - The Victor Gollancz Ltd. publishing file for the author's first book (provisionally entitled `The Spanish October'), which he offers for consideration in the earliest letter: "Dear Sirs, I have just written a travel book dealing with Spain, Portugal and Morocco - the outcome of several visits to those countries. It is possibly brought within your scope on account of the happy coincidence of my arrival in Spain on the last occasion with the outbreak of the October revolt, to my experiences in which, seven chapters are devoted." Together with the original signed contract for the book, carbons of the Gollancz side of the correspondence, two typed letters from Jonathan Cape (1948) to Victor Gollancz regarding contractual issues for Lewis's subsequent book, two original readers' reports and correspondence regarding libel issues.
