SECOND PRINTING (1927), 4to, 250 x 190 mm, 9Â¾ x 7Â¼, illustrated throughout, 1 illustration per page with text above and below, pages printed blue, red or brown, pages not numbered but collated and guaranteed complete, brown cloth backed cream boards, black title to spine, large colour plate to upper cover showing Rupert in blue jumper talking to lizard with bicycle, brown pictorial border, 3 titles on lower cover, plain endpapers. Professionally rebacked in matching cloth with original backstrip with title and imprint laid on, corners slightly worn with cardboard showing at tips, tiny chip to edge of mounted colour plate, hardly noticeable, a little pale staining to cream area at top of upper cover, large pale stain to upper corner of lower cover, also showing on both pastedowns, occasional pale fingermark to margins, occasional tiny pale spot, 5 very small closed edge tears expertly repaired, contents very nice and bright. Binding tight and firm. A very good copy of a scarce early Rupert. This is the first book of six in the series known as the Rupert Little Bear series. It was first published in 1925 in the same format but with pictorial endpapers. All titles in the series are very scarce, both firsts and reprints.
