Rule as to the sailing of vessels of war - Broadside - 1794.
(Philadelphia): (Childs and Swaine), 1794. 4to sheet, 8 1/4 x 13 1/2 inches. When any ship of a belligerent nation sails from American shores, a ship of another belligerent nation must wait 24 hours before departing. This edict appears to have been issued by the Department of State in order to prevent England and France from slugging it out in American waters. Signed in type by Geo. Taylor. Evans 27928, giving Childs and Swaine as printers. Old fold lines, with some tanning of bottom (exposed) fold, but very good condition overall. Rare. Worldcat shows only three libraries holding copies of this broadside.
