Editions Du Calame, Manchester 1942 - paperback, plain grey card covers lettered red and black, completed printing on 20th April, 1942 by the French University Printing Presses of R Aikman & Son, Manchester, no indication of Limitation, (limited to 225 copies)?, red stain to top corner of front cover- not penetrating beyond, edges of covers chipped and age-toned, small piece lacking at tail end of spine, first three leaves creased to top leading corner, tipped in portraits of Proust and of Marie Nordlinger, binding tight, text clean, lecture and 41 letters.This copy inscribed to Prince Antoine de Bibesco [of Romania], life-long friend of Proust and thought to be the role model for Proust's character, Robert de St Loup, signed and dated by Marie Nordlinger, Manchester, September, 1949.
