London: Bradbury & Evans. 1850 - Octavo (211 Ã— 133 mm). Contemporary half calf, marbled sides, red morocco label to spine lettered gilt. Bookseller's label tipped-in to verso of plate "The Momentous Interview". Some light wear to board edges, front hinge cracked, rear hinge partly cracked but holding, some occasional light foxing to contents. An excellent copy. Etched pictorial title page, frontispiece and 38 etched plates after "Phiz" (Hablot Knight Browne). First edition, bound from parts. David Copperfield was Dickens's own personal favourite among his books; its critical reception was universally favourable and it was generally considered to be his masterpiece.
