Large oval woodcut on title showing Christ rising from a chalice surrounded by 4 angels. Near-contemporary paper boards. I: The Statutes of the Montes Pietatis at Verona, a charitable lending establishment and precursor of the modern pawnshop, which initially collected the necessary capital by preaching and donations, charging only a modest interest. II: Updated rules for the employees of the lending society. Neither imprint is listed in Kress, or in Goldsmiths Catalogue.
