Nineteenth century calf, rebacked, marbled endpapers (worn)James I treatise asserting his divine right to rule.First printed privately by the King in 1599, the present edition followed to be circulated among the masses. Apparently the demand for this book was such that Norton had it printed by several printers, including those who appear on the various title pages of the Norton editions and the Eliots Court Press. The present issue printed by Kyngston for Norton and with the King's woodcut arms on the title.ESTC S107536.
