Collection of 3 books by Paul Laurence Dunbar - Dunbar, Paul Laurence - 1903.
Dodd, Mead and Co, New York 1903 - 3 books by Paul Laurence Dunbar. The highlight is a 1903 later printing of Lyrics of the Hearthside that is inscribed by the author on fly leaf, "Strength for the fight / Paul Laurence Dunbar." The quote is from Dunbar's poem, "The Warrior's Prayer," which starts on page 109 of this book. Good+ copy, no dust jacket. Uneven sunning and spotting to covers. There's a faint tidemark visible on the bottom margin of the last 120 pages. Text is bright and unmarked. Sound binding and hinges. The other 2 titles are all First Editions in original cloth bindings. 1. Lyrics of Lowly Life, 1896. Good+ copy, no dust jacket. Spine darkened; covers show light fading and soil; light tearing to spine ends. Hinges were starting, but have since been expertly repaired and now show few signs of wear or repair. Previous owner's signature on fly leaf; offsetting on title page from tissue; else, clean and unmarked contents. -- 2. Poems of Cabin and Field, 1900. Very Good. Light general shelfwear, light cocking to spine, mild sunning to spine, mild soil, gift inscription on flyleaf, contents unmarked. 3 books total. Digital images and detailed descriptions available upon request. [Attributes: Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
