Fear - Nesbit, E - 1910.
Stanley Paul and Co, London 1910 - The book is firmly and squarely bound in the original cloth, with the spine sympathetically re-backed onto similarly toned cloth, the boards are bumped, rubbed and marked, with the lettering having nearly vanished from the spine. The text block is slightly foxed, toned and dog-eared, with a bookplate to the front pastedown, of the sort usually used to cover circulating library marks when a book is sold, as well as an intriguing circular stamp with the letter "B" in the centre. A rather rough copy of an extremely scarce Nesbit title, one of a her few ventures into the realms of full blown weird and supernatural fiction, rather than a short story collection with only one or two bizarre tales thrown in. It includes one of the earliest uses of a motor car as the tool of ghostly malice in the form of 'The Violet Car'. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
