MONDAY OR TUESDAY - Woolf, Virginia; illustrated with woodcuts - 1921.
London: Leonard and Virginia Woolf at The Hogarth Press. 1921. First edition, first printing. First edition, first printing. Original paper-covered boards with brown cloth spine. Illustrated with woodcuts by Vanessa Bell. 91 pp. An excellent better than very good copy, the binding a little rubbed and nicked at the extremities and with some darkening to the white portions of the illustration. The spine remains clean and firm without tears. The contents are complete and without previous inscriptions or stamps. There is light offsetting opposite a couple of the illustrations as usual, otherwise unusually clean and bright throughout. An attractive example. 1000 copies printed. A collection of eight short stories: A Haunted House; A Society; Monday or Tuesday; An Unwritten Novel; The String Quartet; Blue and Green; Kew Gardens; The Mark on the Wall. Six of the stories are published in this volume for the first time; both The Mark on the Wall (1917) and Kew Gardens (1919) had been published previously. (Kirkpatrick A5a; Woolmer 17). Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
