The photographic wrapper (depicting Laurence Olivier in the title role taken by Tony Armstrong Jones) looks very striking in the removable Brodart archival cover. The author refers in the letter his thinking on who the lead character of Archie Rice was based on: '.some people have suggested to me that I modelled Archie Rice on Max Miller. This is not so. Archie was a man. Max was a God, a saloon-bar PRIAPUS.' Osborne goes on to explore the differences between Miller and the character Archie. A wonderful insight into the character of Archie. scarce with such attributes. Ashtonrarebooks welcomes direct contact.
