Hypertrophic Pulmonary Osteoarthropathy] - X-rays.) ALEXANDER (J.F.) - 1902.
-05 1902 - album of 27 skiagrams on 12 leaves, each with a typed slip or slips with a brief description of the photographs, with a 2-page typed introduction (on pages numbered 67 & 68), folio, contemporary half brgundy roan, MS paper label on upper cover, corners worn, spine partly defective, good. An apparently unrecorded, and extremely early suite of skiagrams (x-ray photographs). The photographs are dated (month and year) on their accompanying slips, some of which have MS additions. The first 4 show the same patients with a time lapse, 1902 and 1905. Inside the front cover is a MS label, probably in Alexander's hand, giving his affiliation as Trinity College (we presume Oxford). The first use of X-rays in British hospitals was in 1901.
