[London: Printed for C. M., 1681]. Folio, disbound, 8 pages. ΒΆ Halifax's first published work, a response to the pamphlet A Letter from a Person of Quality to his Friend, published in late April or early May 1681, which attacked the declaration of King Charles II about his dissolution of the two previous Parliaments: "We live in an Age where ill humor and Malice to the Government do so prevail, that men rail without any manner of distinction, and without examining what things are good or bad in themselves, there seemeth to be no other Rule allowed by one sort of Men, than that they cannot Err, and the King cannot be in the Right . . .". Some slight stains; fine copy....
