Original binding, full leather. Leather labels are in good condition. The binding is rubbed, worn; hinges are cracked through but still attached. Text condition is very good, with minor scattered foxing. A seminal collection of ballads and poetry of horror - or tales of terror - which includes Walter Scott's earliest poetical contributions, eight poems by Robert Southey, one by John Leyden and nine original poems by Lewis himself. Signature on title pages of J. F. Hamilton, Alexander Hamilton's great grandson.
