Defense des Constitutions Americaines, ou - Adams, John - 1792.
Buisson 1792 - First French edition, after the London and Philadelphia editions of 1787. Largely considered Adams¿ most important work. In it, Adams states the principles upon which he believes the United States was founded. Coming at a critical point in the evolution of the French revolution, it was certainly an influence on French thinking. Two octavo volumes, full sprinkled sheep. Spines flat with gilt devices and two labels. Lower label, upper spine and lower corners of volume two with wear, else a sound, very attractive set. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
