Listed in Howes with the comment that this book stimulated curiosity concerning routes to the Pacific, later satisfied by Mackenzie and Lewis and Clark. Carver also describes his experience of being captured by the French and their Indian allies at Fort William Henry in 1757. With a folding map in front, and two (2) plates. *** Bound in original brown calf boards, worn and rubbed. Re-sewn and re-cased with new brown leather spine with gilt lettering and decoration. The contents are clean and complete in a good binding.
