All three plates present with tissue guards. Very Good. Moderate foxing throughout text, occasionally heavy. Some signatures strained, a bit of wear at head, a few light tiny stain to cloth. Faint evidence of removed bookplate at front, tissue guard on illustration at p. 161 torn. Externally in nice shape. A collection of abolitionist pieces with Frederick Douglass' only published work of fiction "The Heroic Slave," issued by the Rochester Ladies' Anti-Slavery Society. Includes work by other leading abolitionist such as Uncle Tom's Cabin author Harriet Beecher Stowe and John Greenleaf Whittier.
