London: George Newnes 1920 - INDISCRETIONS OF ARCHIE. [London: George Newnes, n.d., ca. 1920-21]. A 19"x 28" [25 ½" x 34" framed and matted] original advertising poster for the serialization of P.G. Wodehouses Archie stories, which first appeared in The Strand Magazine in London, between March 1920 and February 1921. The stories were adapted into the novel Indiscretions of Archie, which was first published on February 14, 1921 in the United Kingdom, and July 15, 1921 in the United States. The poster features an illustration of Archie dressed in evening clothes and cheerfully raising his top hat, above the tagline: '"CHEERIO! I'M ARCHIE" / SEE YOU IN THIS MONTH'S STRAND MAGAZINE / ON SALE EVERYWHERE'. The poster has been folded, but is in near fine condition. A striking image, very suitable for display purposes, which has been professionally matted and framed.
