The Light in Dends Wood - Dagless, Thomas - 1903. [1228350]
Greening and Co. 18 and 20 Cecil Court, London 1903 - 8vo. 116pp. + 8pp. ads. Publisher's green cloth titled and decorated in black and white with a moonlit forest scene. Minor edgewear, light bumping to spine ends, teetering on the edge of near fine but certainly a very good copy indeed of what must be a rather fragile book. Internally clean. A rather florid "With Compliments" has been written across the front flyleaf suggesting that either this is a publisher's presentation or that Mr. Dagless himself gave it to someone. Samples of Mr. Dagless's handwriting however remain elusive, in fact the only thing I can find referencing him at all is a mention to the effect that none other than Anthony Hope recommended him for entry into a list of "The Fifty Worst Books." A very scarce mystery novel. ecat2 [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
