Engraved military map of the river IJssel and its surroundings, depicting the invasion of the region by count Hendrik van den Bergh (1573-1638), based on a map by the cartographer Cornelis Florisz. van Berckenrode (1608-1635), brother of Balthasar Florisz. van Berckenrode. One of the inserted maps shows Van den Bergh's military quarters near Dieren (Gelderland), the other showing the quarters and fortifications of the "gouverneur van Grol" near Bronkhorst. It shows the IJssel from Arnhem, where it separates from the Rhine, to Deventer. The map was published in Visscher's atlas Belgium sive Germania inferior... around 1634.Some minor browning, but otherwise in very good condition.
