Spines are in very good condition, with five raised bands with gilt decorations, and six compartments. Gilt titles in the second panel on a red label and gilt book titles and volume numbers in the fourth panel. Marbled page edges. Front paste down and front free end paper are marbled. Title pages are in great condition, and the first and last volume have frontispieces opposite, and an engraved illustration to the title page in each volume. Throughout the text the pages are bordered in red, there is some sporadic light foxing, although the text is generally clean. Very good set. Condition Report Externally Spine very good condition. Joints very good condition. Corners very good condition worn and bumped lightly. Boards very good condition. Page edges very good condition marbled page edges. See above and photos. Internally Hinges very good condition cracked on the rear hinge of volume 1 but holding well. Front paste down very good condition. Front end paper very good condition.
