John Murray, London 1828 - Two volumes quarto. (280mm x 220mm.) Bound in near contemporary purple diced calf that has browned uniformly on spines due to light; twin black morocco labels; simple gilt decoration; edges of board with gilt roll of a flower; marbled edges and endpapers. The binding is a little rubbed and scuffed and the the upper joints are slightly cracked but perfectly sound.Most of the plates have (long ago) been neatly re-laid. This is evident from a dark border to the edges but the repairs have been very expertly done. xv, 631; vi, (2), 515pp. Complete with 10 plates, 25 text illustrations and a coloured map.
