Madrid 1793 - 2 volumes. folio. ppvi 3-518, l. vi 3-574, liv. the code of laws governing the Spanish navy in the late 18th century. a very comprehensive work covering every operational aspect of the navy; volume 1 dealing with command structure, ranks and offices, naval artillery, flags and signals, salutes and military honours on board, etc. volume 2 covers marine infantry and discipline on board, quartering, military service, keeping the watch, battle drill, harbour policing, accounts, stores, etc. hinges pulling and creasing of end-papers, small strip cut from the top of page 3/4 with slight loss of heading text, but generally a very nice crisp copy in a contemporary full-calf binding - slight wear to volume 1, heavy rubbing to lower board of volume 2 with some loss of leather, wear at foot of the spine, and slight worm damage. later manuscript notes on preliminary pages 019 018 904 [Attributes: Hard Cover]
