Finely bound in recent polished calf, gilt, two contrasting morocco lettering-pieces. A fine copy, with very occasional light marking to text. Bookplate of Harlan and Delia Walker to FEP. First published in 1792 Woollams and Collingwood were both chefs at the renowned Crown and Anchor on the Strand, and The Universal Cook remains one of the earlier examples of English works produced by restaurant chefs, rather than household chefs.
