Ever since Pogany had designed the production of Le Coq D'Or at the Met, he had wanted to illustrate this fairy tale, one of his favorites. Featuring lovely full page color lithographs and many half-page black and whites by Pogany. THIS COPY IS SIGNED BY BOTH WILLY AND ELAINE POGANY, inscribed to Marian Young who was a prominent librarian and a member of the Caldecott Award Selection Committee.
