All volumes: Brown leather/boards. 6 raised bands on spine. Gilt double lines on spine and covers with lettering on spine. Engraved bw frontis by Roussell in Vol. I. All title pages red/black-lettered title page with bw copper engraving of the ship Lutetia (the Gallic-Roman name of Paris). Pagination: volume 1: [8], 21, [3], 828, [24] pages, [1] leaf of plates; volume 2: [8], 567 [i.e. 577], 309, [2] pages; volume 3: [16], 247, [1], 224, 402 pages; volume 4: [4], 270, [4], 164, 85, [1], [2], [258] pages. Occasional bw wood-cut engraved decorations. Heavy at 36 pounds and will require extra postage. The theological works of Saint Jerome (A.D. 345-420). Text in Latin with occasional Greek. Volume 1 contains books 1,2, and 3; Volume 2 contains books 3,4, and 5; Volume 3 contains books 6,7, and 8; Volume 4 contains book 9.
