After moving to Rome, he became an attorney and expert on canon law. Ultimately, he was Prior of the Church of Santa Maria del Pianto, where he spent the rest of his life. In 1668 he published his Consultationes canonicae, which he expanded in subsequent editions, with some editions also published posthumously. The complete set, published in 1700, of this Pignatelli classic. Tomus Decimus contains the general index for the entire set. Humorous little ditty (printed) on the last page of Tomus Quartus!
