Shepard, pages: xi, 178, (2), in publisher's original pink cloth, single gilt ruled border and gilt vignette to upper cover, 4 gilt rules and gilt lettering to spine, top edges gilt, pink endpapers illustrated with silhouettes by Shepard. Slightest touch of rubbing to lower edge of tail of spine, a few very faint fox spots to fore - edges (not showing on pages), narrow strip of light browning to free endpapers next to centrefold, no inscriptions, small crease to 1 lower corner, otherwise a Fine crisp tight clean copy in near Fine first issue DUSTWRAPPER (179th thousand on rear flap, price printed on spine only, a touch of fading to spine, lettering bright, 10 mm (½") almost imperceptible water spot on spine, very slight wrinkling at head of spine, very clean, no chips or tears). Housed in an almost Fine sturdy custom - made clamshell box lined in red velvet, covered in pink cloth with gilt rules, title, author and publisher to spine.
