- CARROLL,LEWIS. (WILLY POGANY) ALICE'S ADVENTURES IN WONDERLAND ORIGINAL ART: Chapter 7 headpiece: A Mad Tea Party. Offered here is Willy Pogany's drawing that appears on page 99 as a headpiece for Chapter 7 of his edition of Alice published by Dutton in 1929. The book is illustrated in black and white and Pogany's Alice is a decidedly Art Deco girl with a flapper hairdo and short skirt! The image shows the Mad Hatter and the White Rabbit deep in coversation with teacups, tea kettle and more on the table. There is incredible detail that really brings these two characters to life. The image measures 7 inches square on flexible board that is overall 11 x 13 1/4" and is attractively matted, signed. The image in the book is greatly reduced from the original measuring 3 3/4" wide x 2 3/4" high. A great item for the Alice collector, full of charm. [Attributes: Signed Copy]
