Travels through the Middle Settlements in - Andrew Burnaby - 1775.
T Payne, London 1775 - A good copy of the 2nd octavo edition in contemporary half leather binding. The 2nd edition was published in the same year as the 1st. The binding has plain gilt compartments to the spine and a red title label. The boards are marbled. It is worn, with some splitting beginning at the top and bottom of the front spine joint, and general surface and edge wear. it is currently sound. The contents are generally clean - there is occasional marking and spotting, but where it occurs, it is mostly to margins. An early previous owner has written some prose to the front pastedown, 1st blank, the verso of the erratum leaf, the final blank and the rear free endpaper. The content seems unrelated to Rev Burnaby's work - and more about musings on family, marriage, life and death. Book contents: half title with ink price of 3/6 at the top; title page; Introduction pp v-xvi; text pp 1-162; weather diary pp 163-198; Finis; Erratum. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
