Thomas Platter, Basel 1540 - A charming little edition of the New Testament entirely in Greek with four wood-cut devices of the Evangelists on the title-page by Urs Graf, a full-page wood-cut of St. Paul done by Hans Holbein on the penultimate leaf, and a large architectural woodcut device of the publisher Johann Schabler (with his initials) and bearing the motto Durum Pacientia Frango on the last leaf. 8vo (26.5 x 9.5), , 382,  ll. Bound in 18th century mottled calf with gilt spine, joints tender, edgewear, Some leaves in the Gospel of St. John with light damp-staining to outer edge, impressions on title-page a bit blurry, antique inscription to title-page.
