A Journey to Mequinez; The Residence of the - Windus, John - 1725. 
Jacob Tonson, London 1725 - First Edition. This is believed to be a dedication copy, it was sold from the Cranford estate in Aug 1885. Original maroon leather binding with title and decoration in gilt to spine and gilt decoration front and back, marbled end papers, all edges gilt. This is copy 41 which is inked on free front end paper. It has the bookplate of Durdans (Durdan's house, Epsom) on the front end paper and also embossed on title page. Durdans was once owned by the Berkeley family. Previous owner's book plate also on front end paper. pencilled notes on front and end free papers. Binding is very good with all the original fold out drawings; 'The South Prospect of Tetuan', 'Northeast Prospect of Alcassar', 'Elevation of Antiquities near Zarhon' , 'The West Prospect of the Palace', 'The East prospect of Mequinez' (minor tear to one fold), 'A Plan of the Royal Palace at Fez'.Occasional tick marks in margins in pencil.
