Dracula - Stoker, Bram - 1904. [1200431]
Archibald Constable and Co, Ltd, London 1904 - The book is reasonably firmly bound in the publisher's red cloth, lettered and decorated in black, the cloth is slightly marked, rubbed and bumped, with some minor tears and splitting to the cloth, mainly to the upper join of the spine and rear panel. The text block is slightly foxed and toned, with damage to the rear endpaper. The book is inscribed to the front endpaper by Noel Thornley Stoker: "Frank Herbert Barton from Noel Thornley Stoker 8 XI 1947 the Centenary of the author's birth". An uncommon early edition, the first hardback edition to deviate from the wildly unsuitable canary yellow boards in favour of a more appropriately gothic design, and with a pleasing association. [Attributes: Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
