RARE LIMITED EDITION SET OF 39 HERIOT FRAMEABLE PRINTS Approx. 25.5cm x 33.5cm (10 x 13¼ inches) Near Fine. 16pp, 78pp (image on every other page) , 6pp,[4]blank, not numbered however, the book version had 110 printed numbered and initialed and 10 labeled HC. Printed on heavy Carlyle Japan paper with deckled edges. Tan heavy card slip case with gilt symbol on front. Showcase of 39 colour reproductions of watercolours, colour wash drawings and aquatints drawn by George Heriot during his stay in Canada in the early 1800's. Bilingual book (separate French and English pages. Hugues de Jouvancourt [1918 - 1978] Canadian, Quebec Listed Artist. This set was obviously produced for the images to be framed based on the production versus the deluxe suede edition produced at the same time. "Most scenes selected are of Lower Canada and some Nova Scotia. In his introduction Jouvancourt supplies biographical information, briefly discusses the 18th century landscape tradition, and describes Herito's style.
