Things Fall Apart - Achebe, Chinua - 1959. [1194486]
McDowell, Oblensky, New York 1959 - First American Edition. Signed by the author on the title page. A landmark of 20th Century African literature. Bound in the original gray cloth, with slight edge wear, corners slightly bumped, spine ends just starting to fray. As expected for this title, the dust jacket corners & spine ends chipped, front panel joint often rubbed, small creased & chipped areas along top of front panel with no loss to lettering or design. Interior is clean and unmarked, except for prior owner's name inked to front free end paper. Binding is square and solid. A ticket to the author's appearance at the Folger Theatre in Washington, DC. for a Pen/Faulkner Foundation event on April 19, 2002 is laid in. A scarce signed copy of the author's first published book. [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy; Hard Cover]
