(8:) How to guard against the evil of magic. VD17, 12:660417W. Lebenwaldt (1624-96) was a Salzburg physician who obtained a doctorate in medicine at Padua University and was made a count palatine for his researches into plague epidemics. The author also studied literature at Graz University and was made poet-laureate by the Emperor Leopold I. He was elected a member of the Leopoldina, the first German Academy for the Natural Sciences. Not in the Ferguson collection, which only contained the first four tracts (1 defective), the present numbers five to eight are listed in the catalogue for information only; see: Bibliotheca Chemica pp14-15.
