COBBETT, WILLIAM (Peter PORCUPINE)
THE BLOODY BUOY Thrown out as a Warning to the Political Pilots of America; or, a Faithful Relation of a Multitude of Acts of Horrid Barbarity, such as the Eye never witnessed, the Tongue never expressed, or the imagination conceived .
Unknown, Unknown - pp; i-xvi [iv] -259 . Bound in brown half-leather and marbled boards, black title piece and gilt trim to spine. The date of this publication cannot be determined with certainty as the title page is missing. There is a handwritten note on the front paste down of the author's name and the date 1797. There is also an ad on the last page of text dated 1797. The text block begins with the dedication and includes all contents thereafter, including a one-page advertisement for Cobbett's 'Memoirs of the Life of Peter Porcupine' (1797). A fair copy considering the missing title page. The boards are worn and rubbed with a small piece loose at the head of the spine. Internally, there is light foxing that appears mainly near the edges. The first three pages of text (dedication and table of contents) are toned. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
