Rivington and others 1822 - with additional engraved title and engraved frontispiece, pp. xvi (including initial blank), 241, [1], 12mo, contemporary aubergine calf, triple gilt fillets on sides enclosing an inner blind roll tooled border, spine gilt in compartments, russet lettering piece, red morocco label inside front cover lettered The Reward of merit, June, 1825, and, folded up opposite, the engraved prospectus for the Thanet House Academy, Margate, tear at centre fold and slight offsetting (including from the red label), very good A nice pocket edition, embellished as a prize binding and with a very fine engraved prospectus for James Mickleburghs Thanet House Academy. Mickleburgh himself made the drawing of the Academy - a fine freestanding building, in front of which a game of cricket is being played - which appears engraved in the top half of the prospectus. Below this is a fairly detailed engraved text enumerating the facilities and advantages of the esblishment. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
