1877 1877 - Good plus or better, light general wear, folded. 11" x 14" Fugitive warrant for Nicholas Cortwood and Oscar Golden, accused of arson, to be handed over to the custody of Nathan B. Deatherage of Kentucky on capture, 29th July 1887. Signed by Governor Shelby Cullom and secretary of state Geo. H. Harlow. handwritten, signed statement on reverse attesting to the capture and transfer of Oscar Golden 20th July 1877 by E. S. Gregory, sheriff of Vermilion County IL, also stating that Nicholas Portwood was not found in that county. Filed stamp and note with red-ink date also on reverse.
