C17 English Manuscript entitled 'A Book of Armes, Armor and Ammoniton' (sic)

      December 1660. - Folio. Pagination 26 (title, 8 text pages, and the remaining leaves are blank), there are also 2 loosely inserted leaves; one is dated 1660, the other (a pass) is dated 1649. Contents (with original spelling retained): A note of what Armes and Ammoniâ€"are bought and swords. Dated 26th December 1660; C--- (name unclear) Board of newcastle two and twenty pound waight of gunpowder… Mathew rocke of Newcastle hath formerly two pounds waight of Gunpowder; A note of the names of those who Listed themselves for his Ma.tis sor--- under the Command of Sir Richard Loboson. Dated The 10th Jun: 1660; [Par]ticular of those Gentlemen and Soldiers have Listed themselves for his Ma.tis Ser---- under the Command of Sr Richard Loboson of Trentham of the h--- order of the Bath Knt. (This leaf frayed at upper inner edge with slight loss of first few letters). The list continues onto the following four leaves, these again with loss but extending across upper edge. The loose sheet is head, A note of Armes d--- (?) and contains the names of those holding 'pistolls' etc and the number held. The abovementioned pass is signed "R. Mainwaring" and dated 27 November 1649 allowing the bearer John Moulson to "passe youre Courte of Guard." The manuscript show significant signs of wear, but still is good readable condition.
