Edmonstone, along with Robert Master and a Mr Hoghton meet with Belzoni, and follow behind Drovetti. A basic book of early travel, Edmonstone's map is the first to locate the Great and Western oases in their correct geographical positions. Complete with 12 plates and folding map frontispiece. Marbled endpapers. Kalfatovic 250. Good condition, contemporary green leather with spine darkened and edge wear.
