TAKAGI, Teijiro
The Fujiyama
1917 - TAKAGI, Teijiro. The Fujiyama. Illustrated title-page and 20 hand-coloured collotype plates. Oblong folio, bound in gold-flecked silk over boards with silk ties. Kobe: Takagi, Taisho 6 [1917]. Teijiro Takagi was, like Ogawa, a prolific producer of albums and collotypes. Takagi issued over twenty-five different titles such as this one using hand-coloured collotypes. Other characteristic titles include: The Fisherman's Life, The Rice in Japan, The Chrysanthemums in Japan, The Japanese Tea-house, The Ceremonies of a Japanese Marriage, etc. This one is particularly fine, and is distinguished by beautiful images of the mountains, lakes, bridges, villages, valleys and forests that surround Mt. Fuji; each photo always capturing Fuji-san. The plates have captions in Japanese and English. Very rare, with no copies listed in OCLC. [Attributes: Hard Cover]
