Appresso Domenico Imberti, Venetia 1611 - (4) 449 leaves, printer's woodcut device on title page (woman standing on throne-like pedestal). With small ornate woodcut capitals at start of each Canto & many larger pictorial woodcuts throughout: Each of the 101 cantos is preceded by an allegorie accompanied by an intricate woodcut panel. This 1611 rare reprint of the popular 15th. cen. romantic epic is in vellum covers over thick boards with 4 slightly raised bands. Some slight soil to vellum (age appropriate) & light shelf wear, mainly to corners. The spine title in done in dark brown ink in an early hand. Contents are tight & paper is age-toned but generally clean. (some notations on last blank flyleaf & front pastedown.) First blank endpaper is missing. The title page is creased, with little tears along foreedge & light stain to bottom quarter. Still quite in good condition given its 400 years of age. [Attributes: Soft Cover]
