Jacket is unclipped and protected with a fold-on sleeve. Typical for this edition, the jacketed book fits tightly in the slipcase (I recommend storing the jacket separate; the book is more attractive without it). Excellent presentation of Matheson's popular romantic fantasies SOMEWHERE IN TIME (originally titled BID TIME RETURN) and WHAT DREAMS MAY COME. Both novels are complete in one sturdy, clothbound volume with a special foreword by the author. Exclusive to the deluxe issue is a haunting James Hagopian photograph showing a pocket watch and cameo portrait. The photograph originally appeared in a botched version on the jacket of the 1975 first edition of BID TIME RETURN. Restored here to its original beauty, the photo is included as a frontispiece in the book and again on the outside of the slipcase. Both novels have been adapted successfully for film. SOMEWHERE IN TIME was brought to the screen in 1980, with a screenplay by Matheson and a cast featuring Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour, and Christopher Plummer.
