Laeti, Johannis
Compendium Historiae Universalis Civilis & Ecclesiasticae, Tam Romanae Quam Protestantium Selectissimi's Rebus Refertissimum Ab Augusto Ad Annum Usque Christi Iesu, 1540
Amstelaedami [Amsterdam] Apud Johannem A Ravestein, 1661. Very Good Bound in full vellum with chipped leather label on the spine, stamped in gold. An attractive early binding with original headbands and cords neatly pulled through covers for a tight and lasting binding. Engraved title page. 544 pages + a long, detailed index. Text in Latin. A few large initials, but by and large this is not a decoratively printed work. A page of notes at the back, hand-written, ink faded to brown. Another handwritten note on the inside front cover. Quite good condition overall. No foxing to speak of and only very minor toning from age.
