Some rubbing to extremities and wear to corners, foxing throughout, but still a very good set. Francois Rabelais (1494-1553) was an important French Renaissance doctor and writer. He is primarily known for his satires, fantasies, and bawdy humor. His best known work is Gargantua and Pantagruel, a satirical story about two giants, filled with bawdy humor, vulgar insults, and amusing adventures. Six octavo volumes.
