Frontispiece, one plate and family tree. Tipped-in slip indicating that 500 copies were printed. A spoof collection of pieces from the ''Bredon Papers'', relating various events surrounding ''ancestors'' of Lord Peter Wimsey. Presentation copy from Muriel St. Clare Byrne, inscribed on the front free endpaper. Byrne was co-author with Sayers of the play Busman's Holiday, and is here thanked in the Foreword for help with this book. Covers a bit faded at the spine and bottom edge. Very good indeed.2. An Account of Lord Mortimer Wimsey, the Hermit of the Wash, related in a Letter to Sir H--- G--- Bart, by a Clergyman of the Church of England. Bristol: printed by M. Bryan, Corn Street [i.e. Humphrey Milford, Oxford University Press, London]. 1816 [i.e. 1937]. Unbound octavo gathering, as issued. Spoof biographical essay on an ''ancestor'' of Lord Peter Wimsey. Small mark to title-page. Near fine.Two scarce items.
